The Actors Fund is a national human services organization, that serves everyone (and not just actors) who works in entertainment and the performing arts – film, theater, television, music, opera, and dance, and has offices in New York, Los Angeles, and Chicago. Founded in 1882, The Fund assists more than 12,000 entertainment professionals annually across the United States, and more than 750,000 through web-based and phone-based resource programs. Actors Fund services and care are wide in scope, responsive in nature, and produce significant results, affecting the lives of those in our community in need, crisis, or transition on a consistent basis, year in and year out.
In addition to Looking Ahead, The Fund works in four primary areas: a full range of social services, counseling and emergency financial assistance; getting and keeping affordable health insurance or providing care to people without insurance; helping people find better sideline work so they can pursue their dreams and pay their bills; and, developing and helping people find affordable housing. If you earn your living in entertainment, The Actors Fund is part of your extended family. The Fund can be reached by calling 323- 933-9244/ 800-221-7303 or at www.actorsfund.org.
