Looking Ahead is a program of The Actors Fund created to help professional young performers and their families thrive amid the unique challenges of working in the entertainment community.
There are two ways to be
eligible for Looking Ahead:

Looking Ahead is for professional young performers, ages 9 through 18, who are living in the Los Angeles area. Eligible performers include actors, singers, dancers and musicians.

1. Union Members

If you have professional representation and are a member of one of the performing unions (AFTRA, SAG, Equity, Musician’s Local 47, etc.), you’re automatically eligible to become a member of Looking Ahead. Just go to “Join Us!” on the home page and follow the instructions to complete the application form.

2. Non-Union Members

If you are not a union member, you may still become eligible for the program!

All you have to do is document the last two consecutive years of your professional income, showing that you earned a minimum of $3,000 per year. (This can be documented through tax returns, W2s or 1099s, or letters from employers, etc.). You must also have professional representation. Once you have this information, call Looking Ahead staff to complete the application at 323-933-9244, ext. 425.
